Trip Overview

This is Nepal's all-time classic Everest Region trek through the Sherpa-Land designed to fulfill the quest of many people to experience the historic rout to the base of among all mountain communities in the world. The Sherpa life-style on the high mountain side of Mt. Everest, the sparse vegetation of the high Himalayas, co-relation with yaks (a source of transportation, milk, cheese, meat, and wool), and not to forget their courage, determination, good humor and hospitality have been praised by Sir Adman Hillary, Bonnington, and Messner mountaineering legends that have climbed Mt. Everest and over the years become close friends with the Sherpas of Everest.

On a trip of a lifetime, we are sureyou have learned never to rush a trek to altitude in the Himalaya and taking an extra few days makes all the difference to really being able to enjoy your trek. A gradual ascent through wonderful Sherpa villages allows you time to enjoy the scenery, wildlife and visit a number of monasteries. Your trek culminates with a fine opportunity to trek to both Everest Base Camp and the nearby peak of Kala Pattar (5545m) for spectacular views of Mount Everest. On your return journey youenjoy the high mountain views from our unique private permanent campsites in the company of our Sherpa guides, whose exceptional experience, knowledge and passion for trekking in the Khumbu add a further dimension to this unforgettable trek.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Katmandu:  Your wonderful journey to the amazing Himalayas starts from your flight to Kathmandu. You will be warmly greeted by a representative from Nepal Glory Trek. After completion of our custom formalities (Visa, etc), we pick upwith our display board at the arrival gate. Overnight at a hotel of your choice.

DAY 02: Kathmandu - Lukla– Phakding: 3-4 hours trek (trekking times only) After early breakfast, head to domestic airport for flight to Lukla, the starting destination of your Everest Base Camp Trek. Upon arrival at Lukla, get arranged with the baggage and porters; get off on the trail to Monjo. The first day of trekking is through forested paths under the shade of birch, conifer, rhododendron and juniper trees, and along the milky waters of the Dudh Kosi River. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 03: Phakding–Namche Bazar: 5 - 6 hours The second day, walking through a beautiful pine forest, the track leads you along the Dudh Koshi River through many suspension bridges, one of which is the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. Your eyes catch the wonderful prospect of the glistening Mt. Thamserku (6618 m). Through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, you enter the Sagarmatha National Park; pass through the last village of Jorsale before reaching Namche Bazaar. The trail climbs through the forests and bridges until we reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. After a final steep ascent of about two hours we get first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. After walking nearly 1.5 hours, you reach at the gateway to Mt. Everest and main trading centre of this region- Namche Bazaar. You stay overnight in Namche Bazaar at a hotel of your choice.

DAY 04: Namche - Acclimatization Day: An acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar is essential for further high altitude. Health experts always recommend us to stay active and moving during the rest day too instead of being idle. We either spend the day taking a day hike to Thame or visiting Khunde or relaxing and exploring Namche Bazaar itself. Namche Bazzar is the main centre of the Everest (Khumbu) region with hospitality and other various services. You would have the chance to know Sherpa culture and learn about the various plant and animal life of the Everest region. You also take an interesting side trip up to Khumjung, Syangboche, the Everest View Hotel (a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth). The Khumjung valley is surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kongde and Thamserku and the sacred peak Khumbila, hosts a well known monastery that houses a yeti scalp. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

DAY 05: Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,870m): 5 - 6 hrs When you start your trek towards Tengboche, your eyes will catch the superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku. Your trek follows on the gradual trail with few ups and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great Himalaya. Along the way you can enjoy watching the wild lives like pheasant, musk deer, or a herd of Himalayan Thar. You finally reach at Tengboche after catching wonderful beauty of Himalayas on the way. Tengboche is a great place for close up views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest and it has a biggest Buddhist Monastery all over in Khumbu region. Overnight stay at lodge.

DAY 06: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m): 5 - 6 hrs The sixth day of Everest Base Camp Trek begins more serious trekking into the higher reaches of the Everest region. The initial part of the day descends through forested paths into Dibuche. There is a chance of getting sight of some Himalayan Wild animals in the forest. Dingboche, an old Sherpa settlement, acts as view point towards Island Peak and lush valleys and barley fields dotted with stone huts and pastoral stone-walled enclosures. Overnight at lodge.

DAY 07: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m): 5 - 7 hrs Cross Chhukung valley, begin climbing further up the Everest trail. Lobuche used to be summer settlement for the Sherpas. Lobuje can get busy during the peak trekking seasons, as it is the main gateway to the Everest Base Camp (EBC), and all trekkers with the aim of going on to the Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, or climb Everest spend the night in Lobuje. Overnight at lodge.

DAY 08: Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5170 m)-Everest Base Camp (5364 m)-Gorak Shep: 8 - 9 hrs Climbing up to Gorak Shep, through rocky and glacial trials you will finally reach to the Everest Base Camp, gathering place of climbers’ summiting Everest. This is the ultimate point; the base camp is a cluster of semi-permanent camps dotted with multicolored tents. Although there is no grand view of Mt. Everest from EBC, a visit to the Base Camp is a must just for the thrill of being on the foot of Everest. You will return to Gorak Shep for overnight stay. Overnight at lodge.

DAY 09: Gorak Shep-Kala Patthar - Lubuche: 6-7 hours Early in the morning, you start to catch the dramatic views from Kala Patthar witnessing the first light of day shining on Mount Everest. Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself emerging between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. During the ascent to Kala Patthar, you can pause to catch your breath at several outstanding view points to snap pictures. After several hours of an ascent, you reach Kala Patthar. As you reach the top, you sit on the Kala Patthar where rocks our eyes taking unthinkable Himalayan Panorama, wandering from one mighty massif to another. You take as many pictures as you can and take the in view with our mind's eye to last lifetime. The trek will then continue after breakfast to Lubuche where you will stay overnight.

DAY 10: Lubuche-Pheriche-Pangboche-Tengboche-Tengboche (3860m): 5 - 7 hrs The trek begins to descend back, retracing the steps to Tengboche. The trail continues through a wide valley from the settlement of Pheriche. And climb down to the village of Pangboche, across the suspension bridge over the Imja Khola, past Debuche and ascend towards Tengboche. Overnight at lodge.

DAY 11: Tengboche-Namche (3440m): 4 – 5 hrs It’s the time of ending the journey, take a last look around all those beautiful views once again and back to Lukla on the next day. Overnight at lodge.

DAY 12: Namche Bazaar-Lukla (2,800m): 6 - 8 hrs A short downhill trek connects to Lukla, the gateway to all places, the final day to spend time together with the trekking crew. Overnight at lodge.

DAY 13: Lukla–Kathmandu Fly back to Kathmandu: (flight depends on weather condition), transfer to hotel and relax day in Kathmandu.

DAY 14: Kathmandu Sightseeing: You will be taken to a guided tour of Kathmandu's historical and spiritual attractions like to the historic Durbar Squares, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple'-Swayambunath, and Boudhanath, one of the largest Stupas in the world. Overnight at hotel

DAY 15: Departure from Kathmandu: Today, the journey within the mountains of Nepal comes to an end.If departing, you'll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
