East Nepal Kanchenjunga Trek 24 Days


Trip Overview

Kanchenjunga Trek takes you to remote and less crowded destination in the eastern part of Nepal. Kanchenjunga Trek extends through and around Arun River whose origin dates back to primeval period and offers an infinite variety of landscapes, cultures and panoramic views of Himalayas including the Everest, Lhotse, Makalu   Kanchenjunga. A chance to being face to face with four out of the world’s five highest mountains makes this trek most rewarding. You’ll get a chance to explore one of the most remote regions of Nepal, surrounded by absolute pristine nature. It’s a hard and long trek suitable only for fit trekkers.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel

Day 02: Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 03: Flight Kathmandu – Bhadrapur or Biratnagar and drive to Phidim, 5-6 hrs drive. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 04: Drive Phidim – Taplejung (1820 m),  3-4 hrs drive; trek to Mitlung (920m) for 3 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 05: Trek to Chirwa (1300m)- 4-5 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 06: Trek to Sekathum (1670m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 07: Trek to Amjilosa (2520m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 08: Trek to Gyabla (2730 m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 09: Trek to Ghunsa (3595 m) - 4 - 5 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 10: Acclimatization day in Ghunsa Hike up to 4200m on the way to Dudhkunda (milky lake). 4 - 5 hours. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 11: Trek to Kambachen (4050 m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 12: Trek to Lhonak (4780 m) - 4 - 5 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 13: Day hiking to Pangpema (5065m) to view the Mt. Kanchenjunga and return to Lhonak for overnight stay at local tea house. 5 - 6 hours. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 14: Trek back to Ghunsa (3595 m). 5 hrs. Overnight in a local guest house. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 15: Trek to Selele (4300 m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight in a basic tea house. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 16: Trek Sele La – Sinion La Pass (4460 m) – Mirgin La Pass (4480 m) – Sinelapcha La Pass (4646 m) – Tseram (3870 m) - 7 - 8 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 17: Day hiking to Oktang Base Camp - 5 - 6 hrs. We go for day hiking to Oktang to observe the Kanchenjunga South and return to Tseram for Overnight stay at local tea house. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 18: Trek to Torangden (2995m) - 3 - 4 hrs. Overnight at a local tea house. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 19: Trek to Yamphudin (2080m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight at a local tea house. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 20: Trek to Khebang (1910m). - 4 - 5 hrs. Overnight at a local tea house. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 21: Trek to Khandembe (1420 m) - 5 - 6 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 22: Trek to Medibung (1510 m) - 3 hours and drive to Ilam (2150m) - 4 - 5 hrs. Overnight at local tea house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 23: Drive to Bhadrapur / Biratnagar and fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 24: Departure
